Safety Data Sheets for Commercial Cleaning Chemicals
We stock a wide range of commercial cleaning chemicals and PPS. In a fast-paced kitchen, it is critical for staff to know how to safely use these chemicals and understand the exact protocols if there is an accident or misuse.
Compliance: To ensure your venue remains compliant with occupational health and safety regulations, we provide complete safety data sheets (Chemical Data Sheet Upload).
Accessibility: Venue operators can readily access and refer to the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemical products we supply.
Storage efficiency depends heavily on the specific food being stored and its operational purpose. For maximum efficiency, we recommend using a combination of both plastic and stainless steel.
Clear Polycarbonate/Plastic: These containers allow contents to be fully visible, making them highly useful in operations where quick accessibility is required – such as storing prepped sandwich ingredients or transporting catered food. They are lightweight and cost-effective. However, they should only be used for short-term storage of food that is not hot and not acidic. Over time, plastic can stain, absorb odours, warp, or crack.
Stainless Steel: For ultimate durability, safety, and hygiene, stainless steel storage is the superior choice. These pans won’t leach chemicals, are significantly easier to clean and maintain, and can be used for both hot food and long-term storage. While the contents may not be visible, they are easily labelled. If a venue had to choose just one material, our go-to recommendation is stainless steel.

Colour-Coded Cleaning Equipment for Cross-Contamination Control
We stock an extensive range of colour-coded cleaning equipment, including mops, buckets, and cloths. To ensure you are fully prepared for your next local council audit, review our deep dive on passing commercial health inspections using colour-coded systems.
Food Safety Standards: Implementing a strict colour-coded system across your venue assists in avoiding cross-contamination. Pairing this visual system with precise commercial thermometers ensures your cooking and storage temperatures are strictly monitored for total health compliance.
Risk Mitigation: This simple operational practice is highly effective at preventing the spread of bacteria from different areas (e.g., separating washroom tools from kitchen tools) and adhering to best practice safety standards.

frequently asked questions
Where can I buy commercial cleaning supplies in Melbourne?
What do the colours mean in a commercial kitchen colour-coding system?
What cleaning chemicals does a new commercial kitchen need?
Most kitchens open with four: a degreaser for range hoods, grills and oven interiors, a sanitiser for food-contact surfaces, a floor cleaner suited to a commercial non-slip floor, and a dishwashing or glasswashing detergent matched to your machine.
Beyond those, add stainless steel cleaner and a descaler if your area runs hard water. Buy concentrates rather than ready-to-use where you can, since 5L of concentrate costs less per wash and takes up less storage.
We supply Material Safety Data Sheets for everything we sell, so your OH&S file is complete from day one.
What size gastronorm pans does a commercial kitchen need?
Gastronorm sizing works off a full-size pan measuring 530 x 325mm, with fractions of that dimension named accordingly: a half pan, a third, a sixth and so on. Most kitchens run a mix, with thirds and sixths in the cold line and bain marie, and full or half pans for bulk prep and storage. Depth matters as much as footprint, so check the clearance in your bain marie and under-bench fridge before ordering.
We stock gastronorm pans in 1/1, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/6 and 1/9 sizes. Most are available in 65mm, 100mm and 150mm depths, and select sizes also come 20mm deep.
